Handmade clothing for the little moments in life

Genetic Threads is a mother-daughter business born out of a shared passion for creating and spending time together. What started as a small venture making a single baby outfit for a family friend has blossomed into a thriving small business. In just three short years, we’ve grown from offering two products at a single market to making over 10 unique product lines, participating in more than 10 markets annually, and launching our e-commerce platform. Our inventory and business have expanded to include staple classics, in addition to featuring exclusive designs and seasonal collections. Mom handles the sewing, while I manage social media and cut materials, making this a true family endeavor with everyone pitching in—from crafting displays to picking color combinations. We’re proud to have been invited to prestigious Atlantic Canadian juried markets and even host our own markets through the Coastal Makers Market to give back to the community. As we enter our fourth year, we’re excited to continue growing by designing our own fabrics, creating unique Genetic Threads pieces for you and your little ones for many years to come.
